The second issue of the New Traveler was created for the Berlin Travel Festival 2019. The magazine is a teaser leading up to the event, but also serves as an interesting read amongst travel-inclined readers beyond the festival. Printed on newsprint paper in a tabloid format, the folding program tucked inside functions as a practical guide to the event.
Cee Cee Creative was tasked with developing an entirely new design and content concept, as well as making everything between the pages – from topics to texts to illustrations. The result is a fresh and colorful look, with an eye-catching pink cover. The inside look and feel translates the existing corporate design of the festival to a contemporary editorial design, and draws positive energy from the 2019 Berlin Travel Festival campaign. The magazine’s content was also completely reconceived: the diverse editorial concept takes the reader along formats of all types including tips from international influencers, entertaining Q&As with industry insiders, interviews with renowned personalities and long-form features with adventurers. The New Traveler knows how to entertain globetrotters as well as those who intend to be. A world map with trending destinations, an aspirational travel playlist, stories from women on the road alone and travel horoscopes are just some of the features to uncover inside. It’s an eclectic mix centered onaround this year’s festival slogan: travel different.
